Dreisbach United Church of Christ Cemetery, Dreisbach Road, Lewisburg, Union County, PA
Dreisbach Church and cemetery. The oldest portion is “behind” the photographer. This is where the graves of Martin Dreisbach Sr and his wife, Anna Eva Hoffman Dreisbach are located.
Many of Martin’s children moved to Ohio in the early 1800’s where their graves are located. Although Martin Sr.’s sons, John and Martin, Jr. remained in Lewisburg, their graves are not in this cemetery.
The large monument, near the entrance to the cemetery, was erected to the memory of Samuel McClay - a neighbor of Martin, a surveyor and a United States Senator.
The first known burial in the cemetery is that of Baltzer Kleinsmith who was killed by Indians in a field very close to where Martin Dreisbach lived.
