Ebenezer Cemetery, Circleville, Pickaway County, OH

Ebenezer Church was organized prior to 1850 as a station of the Evangelical Association, of which Rev. John Dreisbach was an early circuit rider in Pennsylvania. In 1831, Rev. John Dreisbach moved from Buffalo Valley, Pa., to Pickaway County, Ohio. Owing to ill health, he was obliged to give up much active work in the church, but for a half century he was one of her strongest pillars. Rev. John Dreisbach preached for the class for a few years, until the regular circuit preachers were appointed for the Ebenezer congregation. Church services were held in homes of the early settlers and in a log school house until 1850, when a frame church building was erected and dedicated in December, 1850. Services were held in this building until around 1920, but now all that remains is the adjoining cemetery.
