Dreisbach/Dresbach Memorabilia

As the newsletter editor and jack-of-all trades for the DDFA, I have been entrusted with some significant DDFA memorabilia. I brought some items for display at DDFA reunions, but otherwise these items are stored in my office where, unfortunately, they are visible to nobody other than me. I would like to rectify this. I am proposing this page where we can display photographs of significant memorabilia relating to the Dreisbachs (of all spellings).

If you would like to take part, please contact dreisbachfamilyassociation@gmail.com to tell me about your item and to discuss what sort of documentation can be obtained. By allowing us to show your memorabilia, this does not mean that you are donating or giving the actual object to the DDFA (or anyone else) but we thank you very much for letting Dreisbachs and Dresbachs (of all spelling) enjoy viewing and learning about your object.

More is coming soon.

Cheers, Marcia Dreisbach-Falconer

Indenture from George Peter Dreisbach to Metz - 1825

This is an indenture, a bill of sale, beautifully inscribed on parchment, from George Peter Dreisbach and wife Margaret to Henry Metz, tanner, both of Plainfield Twp, Northampton Co. PA. There must be an interesting backstory since the sale of 2 acres and 8 perches was for only $1.00. Unfortunately, we do not know more. George Peter was the grandson of 1743 immigrant Simon Dreisbach Sr. He was the son of Simon Dreisbach Jr, and brother of Jacob Dreisbach, both tanners, so this may be part of an unknown connection.
